Shawn Granberry Biography

After college, Mr. Granberry worked as a close confidant to Shakir Stewart and also continued to produce events like, Def Jam’s, “How To Find A Mega Star”. Mr. Granberry also worked very closely with famed movie producer Robert Watts at Transformer Entertainment. While working with Stewart and Watts, Mr. Granberry began researching the new broadcast model now known as Over the Top broadcasting. After returning to UC Berkeley to fully study this model, Mr. Granberry founded Watch Now Networks, Inc.

Shawn met his passion while still in high school. Back then, he worked in the A&R department in his Uncle’s 2-Tuff-E-Nuff Productions where his mother was the CEO. 2-Tuff-E-Nuff productions worked with such artists and companies as Toni, Tone’, Tony, En Vogue, Madonna, Club Nouveau,Con Funk Shun,Timex Social Club, Regina Belle, Alexander O’neal, BET Networks, ABC and Fox Networks.

In high school Mr. Granberry also teamed up with Shakir Stewart to produce some of the biggest parties Oakland, CA has ever seen for high school students. Right after high school, while attending UC Berkeley, he continued his entertainment career by creating several very popular club nights and concerts in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Granberry’s passion is working with inner city youth so he also founded The Scholar Athlete Union and Bears Youth Basketball with help from childhood friend Jason Kidd and works very close with Stanford and UC Berkeley faculty to help young people achieve a college education and survive the dangers of the streets.


About HipHopTV and how the project started

But when he was at DefJam, Jay-Z told Shakir, he was like, man, you’re way too smart to be running DefJam. You need to own your own company and do global things around the world. So that’s when Shakir called me, and we met in Las Vegas, and we, on a napkin, came up with the concept of HipHopTV. It was really transitioning from regular music sales into video. The video, the video aspect of it. So we wanted to build a global home of hip hop culture and use the latest technology to monetise the culture at the highest levels, making sure that the artists and creators of hip hop were compensated to the highest levels because now, technology was allowing this to happen, fast forward to today and we see where we at: we’re in an incredible space to actually make that happen.

HipHop TV solutions to help artists and musicians

Well I think that the key is that we’re in a serious sense of transition, where artists can take advantage of learning how to use tools that puts them directly in contact with their fanbase. Honestly, record companies are no longer leading anymore. The cost of production that you can do in your house, if you really know how to do it, is, you don’t need necessarily any help from a record company to create a high level of product, high level of music. To me it’s teaching the artists and giving them the tools to have direct relationships with their fanbases. So even in a covid crisis, we transitioned to online content. The key is, the closer you are to your fanbase, the more they will support what you do.

Contactless vitals monitoring

Panasonic has presented its sports analysis technology ‘Contactless Vital Sensing’, which calculates an archer’s heart rate by focusing a camera placed 12 meters away from the shooting line on the athlete’s face. Subtle variations in skin color that are not evident to the naked eye get captured in the video for analysis. The signal processing technology is then leveraged to retrieve the heart rate data.

The International Olympic Committee has partnered with video game developer nWay to launch a new official marketplace for Olympic-themed digital entertainment experience comprising non-fungible token (NFT) Olympic pins and cross-play multiplayer video games. The digital Olympic pins, as NFTs, will have the same qualities as physical pins, such as authenticity, rarity, and provenance, making them genuine collectors’ treasures.

3D tracking technology

Intel and Alibaba have co-developed an athlete tracking technology for deployment at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and beyond. The technology integrates AI and computer vision to power a deep learning application. This helps to pull 3D forms of athletes in training or competition using existing and future Intel hardware and Alibaba cloud computing technology.

Daniel Liu studied Business in Germany, in Frankfurt and in Stuttgart. Starting off in the financial sector, Daniel secured a position in Deutsche Bank. After a while and from his involvement in the financial industry, he discovered blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

That first experience with blockchain took him to investigate and research more in these two technologies. Web Summit: The Largest Technology Event of 2021.

From the 1st to the 4th of November 2021, Web Summit‘s famous technology conference will occur in Lisbon for the first time in five years. At a moment of enormous uncertainty for many businesses, as a result of the pandemic, Web Summit brings together: founders and CEOs of technological firms, fast-growing startups, politicians, and leaders of the state to address a simple question: Where to next?

Smith joined Microsoft in 1993. For three years he led its Legal and Corporate Affairs team in Europe, then five years as deputy general counsel, from 2002 onwards. Smith was promoted to president and chief legal officer of Microsoft in 2015, in this position Smith was responsible for Microsoft’s corporate, external, and legal affairs, whilst also being the firm’s chief compliance officer. Smith announced the establishment of Microsoft Philanthropies, a department of the corporation committed to contributing money and services to the public good, three months into his new role. In the two years afterward, Microsoft Philanthropies has given tens of millions of dollars in grants to education and refugee groups, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars in Microsoft Azure cloud computing services to charities and researchers.

Ro Khanna is a politician, lawyer, and scholar who now serves as the United States Representative for California’s 17th congressional district. President Barack Obama nominated him as deputy assistant secretary of the United States Department of Commerce in 2009. Khanna made international trade visits and attempted to increase US exports in that role. This resulted in him being appointed to the White House Business Council.

The Endless Frontier Act, co-sponsored by Khanna, and others is a significant increase in research funding that will help to establish technology hubs around the country. This legislation was crucial in making it easier for companies to give apprenticeships to soldiers, since it was adopted by both the House and Senate and signed into law by President Trump on November 21, 2017. In addition to this, Khanna also put forward the Internet bill of rights.

According to Khanna, the Founding Fathers regarded people’s right to privacy over their “persons, homes, papers, and assets” as a vital component of democracy Hence, as society has been becoming more digital, the same precautions should apply to our online actions.

He feels our laws have been pushed far beyond our technological capabilities, resulting in widespread breaches of our civil liberties. As a result, Khanna proposed six principles for an internet bill of rights, including the right to universal web access, internet privacy, the right to be free of unlawful data collection, the right to expose the amount, nature, and dates of secret government data requests, the right to be fully informed of the framework of data use, and the right to be informed of any change in control over data. Khanna feels that this will be critical in restricting the National Security Agency’s (NSA) reach and in guaranteeing the future safety of the American internet world.

Tom Taylor, Amazon Alexa’s Head

Rishi Kapoor Biography

Rishi Kapoor started his career working as a Runner for the BBC while he was still at University. After a few internships, Rishi joined Sony in 2011 as a Sales Coordinator. In his time at Sony, he worked in the digital (TVOD & SVOD) sales and distribution team, working with major digital broadcaster across Scandinavia and Benelux to assist the sales process:

• Contract/content licence and rights management, coordinated output deals with digital broadcasters across Scandinavia and Benelux.

• Worked with internal departments (e.g. product fulfillment, finance, legal) and operated bespoke IT systems to schedule content from a portfolio of over 3,500 titles.

• Tracked sales interests in key territories, included revenue recognition of titles for budgeting and budget forecasting.

• Daily interaction with international Sony Pictures offices such as legal & business affairs and fulfilment.

• Developed relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provided product availability reports and liaised with clients on product selections.

That experience was key in designing his professional career in film and his interest in the entertainment industry. That took him to join NBCUniversal Media, LLC as International Account Coordinator in 2015. He was responsible for forming strong partnerships with key EST services: Google Play, Amazon, Apple iTunes and Microsoft, to lead new product/territory launches and to optimise Universal’s digital revenue opportunities for catalogue and new release content. Likewise, he was in charge of selecting key titles for seasonal campaigns, reviewed revenue reports to analyse campaign effectiveness and supported further deal negotiations with key TVOD players.

From there, he moved on to Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies, taking the role of Senior Analyst, The President’s Office UK, Spain and Ireland 6 months later. He worked as Senior Business/StrategyAnalyst working within the President’s Office of UK, Spain and Ireland and providing support and insights for strategic decisions.

The coronavirus pandemic and the economic downturn have had a catastrophic effect on many people’s mental health and created additional obstacles for those who currently suffer from mental illness.
